Daniel Tzvetkoff’s V8 Supercar for Sale
Posted by admin
FALLEN information technology tycoon Daniel Tzvetkoff’s V8 Supercar is covered in SuperGP stickers ready for the Gold Coast’s premier four-day racing carnival in October.
But that is just another broken dream.
Instead of being stored in a luxury garage, it is sitting in an auction shed waiting to be sold at a bargain price.
Tzvetkoff’s entire multi-million-dollar IntaRacing empire, including the V8 Supercar, two prime movers, three huge transporter trailers and all the car parts and tools, arrived at Lloyds Auctions at Carrara on Tuesday.
Forget the repossessed $200,000 sleek black Maserati that drew widespread attention at the auction house last month; this latest Lloyds coup is the ultimate in the dramatic fall of the rich boys.
The administrator, Vincent’s Accountants, has seized all the equipment, tools and parts required to put a race team on the track today — except one vital component — the engine.
Lloyds director Bill Freeman said the engine — said to be worth about $100,000 from the $500,000 race car — could not be found.
Mr Freeman, a confessed motorsport fan, said the administrators called him on Tuesday, asking him to clear everything out of IntaRacing’s headquarters at Southport.
Having a V8 Supercar on his auction floor was by the far the coolest of the repossessed goods he has received, he said.
"I would say I was more elated than surprised," he said. "every car in the series should be bought and scrapped. the whole concept of racing large, environmentally hostile cars is going to go the way of the Tassie Tiger. the sooner the better."
"Forget the Maserati — this is the ultimate of the rich boys’ toys that have gone."
He now has the task of valuing the rare goods that he planned to auction in the next few weeks, ideally as a package to an existing racing team or a newcomer.
However, it may be hard to get a good return given the tight economic climate and the news that V8 Supercars have not put Mr Tzvetkoff’s licence back on the market.
The team, owned by debt-laden Mr Tzvetkoff and partner Sam Sciacca, surrendered its $1.5 million licence to V8 Supercars this month, leaving Gold Coast driver Marcus Marshall without a drive at the upcoming SuperGP.

Online Poker Funds Will Remain Seized: Judge Throws Out Case
Posted by admin
U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Miller in San Diego denied a bid Thursday by lawyers for the company, Account Services Inc., and the Poker Players Alliance to return the money.
On June 2, the US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan seized approximately $40 million in funds belonging to Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, the two largest online poker rooms. Some of that money was being transferred through Account Services, Inc.
After filing a motion asking for return of the funds, the US Attorney’s Office issued an indictment against Account Services owner Douglas Rennick.
Lawyers for the players contend prosecutors in the case have used questionable tactics to hold on to the money, and have avoided arguing the legality question.
Now, after Miller ruled against them, it could be years before they see any of the money, according to Greg Moran of the Union Tribune.
Account Services is one of a handful of online poker payment processors who work with Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars and had funds froze.
Costigan Media, which owns the Gambling911.com website, won a landmark decision to have seizure warrants related to the case unsealed as part of its Motion to Intervene in a New York Circuit Court. The Honorable Judge Laura Taylor Swain agreed to redact some information contained within the seizure warrants due to an ongoing investigation, however, the US Attorney’s Office is required to notify the Court in advance of any upcoming indictments that would allow for further information within those warrants to be unsealed.
Further unsealing of court documents revealed that both Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars are mentioned as part of the ongoing investigation.

Party Casino unleashes the Rambo slot machine
Posted by admin
Party Casino's negotiations with major movie companies for the rights to make online slots from famous movie themes continues to deliver dividends, with a Rambo video slot release this week. Rewards can be achieved in a number of ways, and there’s a half-million-dollar jackpot in the game as a big incentive.
The new game has all the hallmarks of the famous action man played repeatedly by Sylvester Stallone in a series of violent movies past, and is a 5 reel, 20 pay-line blockbuster of a game that includes a bonus round based on a typical Col. Trautman mission for the military-minded daredevil.
Party Casino seems to have upped the ante in competitive terms, releasing twice as many games in the past six months as it did previously, and offering improved sign up bonuses. Against the apparently expensive backdrop of the recently failed Linx Media group, Party is offering another attractive inducement – player deposits are guaranteed to a cap of a thousand dollars.
Over 30 Microgaming Online Poker Skins Liquidated
Posted by admin
Online gambling and poker software company, Microgaming, once had a stellar reputation. They are still a respected firm for the most part, but this year has been especially tough on the group beginning with the state of Kentucky singling out Micrograming in its efforts to seize some 141 online gambling domain names, an effort that failed thanks to a winning appeal by The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association.
The company has had its once impeccable reputation tarnished by licensee Grand Prive (Bella Vegas Casino), which decided to cut off all its "life time affiliate partners" and Microgaming has remained nonresponsive.
This week, licensees Eurolinx and BetonBet Poker were dissolved. Over 30 online poker skins of Microgaming have been dissolved in the past year.
Dan Stewart of PokerScout.com explained to Poker News Daily, ‘Microgaming has seen its market share decline, but then again so have a lot of sites, which have been losing share to PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. The Microgaming Network still has a healthy amount of traffic and we don’t know how much business the individual licensees are doing’.
One individual familiar with the online poker sector who wished not to be identified told Gambling911.com that "the Microgaming online poker network is full of poker sharks", players who win often.
"More so than most of the online poker rooms out there," he added.
As much as $140,000 in player funds are supposedly frozen on Eurolinx, according to CrunchPoker.com.
Ladbrokes and Stan James remain two of the network’s most reputable exponents.

Raiders 2009 Odds: JaMarcus Russell the QB for Now
Posted by admin
The Oakland Raiders enter the 2009 season with odds of winning anything hinging on who the quarterback will be: Jeff Garcia or JaMarcus Russell.
For now, Russell will be the man according to Coach Tom Cable.
Cable made the announcement during a Sunday conference call, per David White of the San Francisco Chronicle.
"I’ve said that it’s his job and we’ll see how it goes," Cable said of Russell. "Unfortunately, Jeff hasn’t had much work. We’ve been fortunate in that JaMarcus has improved. It would have been nice to have someone really pushing him. Maybe we could get him to improve a little bit more."
The Raiders will open Monday night football playing against the San Diego Chargers.
The Raiders are a favorite to win UNDER 6 regular season games in 2009. They are a +7 underdog hosting the Chargers in their first game of the season.

Australian Casino Employees Try To Cover Up Scam
Posted by admin
JUPITERS Casino bosses tried to cover up a $5.7m fraud at the venue and white-anted police investigations into the seven-year scam, a court heard.
The alleged scam involved not casino chips but sausages, along with other foodstuffs.
It involved corrupt casino staff and food suppliers creating bogus food orders and invoices for meat, smallgoods, dairy products, fruit and vegetables and seafood, Southport Magistrates Court was told yesterday.
The court was told the alleged cover-up went right to the top of casino management. Senior managers "scuttled" an initial police investigation by giving documents to defence solicitors and ridiculing whistleblowers, it was alleged.
Two former Jupiters employees, William Noel Partridge, 49, and Steven Michael Vergotis, 51, faced court charged with fraud, along with retired food supplier Alfred Andreas Rahn, 70.
Police prosecutor Douglas Bettany told the court the case involved the creation of more than 2000 false invoices which were used to defraud the casino of $5.7 million between 1993 and 2001. He said there were "known connections" between suspect suppliers and casino purchasing officers in what he described as a "systematic fraud".
Among the allegedly phantom food orders were almost $225,000 worth of breakfast sausages and, from another supplier, more than $1 million in butter, streaky bacon, turkey royale and fruit puree.
Sgt Bettany alleged management had tried to cover up a meat-ordering scam and fraud investigators were not called in until 2001.
One manager had dismissed the alleged fraud as "a storm in a teacup" and was overheard describing two whistleblowers as "arseholes and troublemakers".
Sgt Bettany said senior management was involved in compiling a false statement "in a deliberate attempt to prevent proper investigation".
The court was told the police major fraud squad began investigating in 2003 after charges brought by the casino crime squad were thrown out at a 2001 committal hearing.
Former fraud squad officer Jon Williamson told the court the casino’s then-finance director had "scuttled" the first case by giving documents to defence lawyers.
Mr Williamson said he met resistance from Jupiters management when he began his investigations.
He had uncovered failings in the casino’s internal control system through documents and interviews and "resisting opposition" from management.
Defence lawyer Jason Murakami, for Partridge, clashed repeatedly with Sgt Bettany and accused him of presenting "fantasy" evidence.
The hearing has been set down for two weeks.

Online Casino’s leave UK
Posted by admin
The online casino providers in the United Kingdom (UK) have had it with the high taxes on online gambling in the country, the providers choose to leave the county in order to flee the high taxes.
Online casino provider and bookmaker William Hill is leading the other providers on a possible exodus from the UK, by setting an example with them moving to Gibraltar. From there they can take advantage of the British law, leaving them to pay only a fraction of the tax they pay now. The sports leagues have asked the government to investigate the irregularity’s in the tax structure, it may be too late. William Hill finished transferring its online gambling division to Playtech, which is located in Gibraltar. William Hill is expected to pay only 10 percent of the gambling tax they payed in the UK. The government and sports leagues fear that other internet gambling providers will follow William Hill’s example and leave the country as well. Ladbrokes, one of the other big internet casino providers and bookmaker said: “Our preferred position is to remain in the UK but we have to remain alert to competitive developments.” They added by saying they will leave the UK when William Hill does. The ironic part is that the end result of the unfair taxes on gambling and online casino’s is creating a situation in which almost no taxes are collected, by being greedy and trying to maximize revenue the government drove jobs and revenues overseas. The sports leagues are afraid of fraud and match-fixing because control on betting patterns will be harder to maintain.
